Chord is a new wireless 3D effect system specifically created for wired headphones launched by the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign this week to provide the funds needed to get a jump on production. Supports Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and equipped with a patented Bongiovi DPS, the adapter has already reached its lifting goal thanks to over 100 supporters.

Early bird commitments are available from just $39 or about £32 and worldwide shipping is expected to take place on December 2019. The creators explain a bit more about the features and inspiration behind the chord.

“Chord updates non-Bluetooth devices such as wired headphones or car stereos by adding Bluetooth connectivity to them and streaming audio from your phone with an astonishing Immersive Virtual 3D effect, ideal for gaming, listening to music, watching movies and more. It allows you to operate tracks, volume and virtual assistant control, calls answers and music played in different genres easily and remotely. It's lightweight, portable and has a rear clip that securely attaches to clothes while on the go."

“Chord lets you play your favourite Apple music playlist in a car that isn't capable of Bluetooth. Just plug it into your car stereo and plug it into your iPhone. It plays the music wirelessly and in four genres of music while remaining barely noticeable since it won't take up much space. It can also be used at home or at work to stream music wirelessly with audio devices such as stereos, TVs and powered speakers. " So what are your thoughts on this gadget? Comment down below!
